Hello world, welcome to my blog.

Now I know what you might be wondering: Yes, this was supposed to be the first post I published when starting this blog to serve as an introduction to this newly added section to my portfolio. But indeed, it wasn’t. The first post that went live on my blog section was about my career switching experience, which was not initially planned to be a blog post. I was simply starting a blank page, writing about my journey to switch over to Marketing after chatting with a friend of mine about finding career inspiration but decided that it’d look better as a blog post after seeing how long the entry was getting. And so I spontaneously added this new section to my portfolio, called it a blog, and published it as the first post. But I still feel the need to properly introduce my blog to the world, so I decided to publish this post no. 0 to couple my blog with some purposes and goals that I’m looking to achieve while I’m here.

Hi, I’m Phuong - I also occasionally go by Minh Phuong (it’s a two syllable name and not just Minh :) ) since my first name is a pretty popular Vietnamese name. I work in Marketing and am a music enthusiast at heart, but there’s a side of me that not many people have known of: I’ve always been enjoying writing - and will continue to do so. There’s a little history behind this interest of mine: When I was a child and my family decided to put an end to my comic all day everyday phase, I started befriending my grandma’s bookshelf. Granny is a retired middle school literature teacher and proud owner to many great books which I started picking up back then, and soon became fascinated. Being a bookworm and a right-brained person really helped me develop an interest in creative writing. However, I often shy myself out when it comes to sharing/ showcasing my writing works (which is the reason why my interest in writing still remain unknown to many people) - and for the past many years, I have been mainly keeping my thoughts safe with me on papers, or on my laptop or iPad. But as I started to grow older, I wanted to change this by giving myself a little push with clear goals and purposes.

I hope that by starting this blog, I can share my thoughts with the world, and will continue to explore more inspirations to expand my writing topics beyond capturing my days and my feelings. I do have many ideas of what I wanted to write about, and I think now is the time to start bringing some of those ideas to life. I also hope that by starting a blog, I’ll improve my writing and copyediting skills, which can help me bring more value to the table in my role as a Marketer or a human being. I am not a professional writer nor an experienced blogger, and I’m here to learn and improve, so do let me know if you have any suggestions to help me do better!
